Setting the Stage
Despite seemingly having the entire country aside from New England against them, the Patriots find themselves on the cusp of winning their 3rd Super Bowl in 4 years. With haters abound, the team from Foxborough must once again ignore the noise. After a stunning come from behind win in the AFC Championship Game, it’s safe to say the Belichick-led club should have no difficulties tuning out the distractions.
The Philadelphia Eagles, the top seed in the NFC, have had a wonderful run despite losing their #1 quarterback, Carson Wentz, in Week 14. The team from Rockyland and their fans are full of confidence following their trouncing of the Vikings in the NFC Championship. Will it be enough to topple the New England dynasty?
The Pondering Father’s Prediction
While the Eagles are certainly a talented team, they lack playoff experience. Yes, they’ve had two big wins. However, those victories came before their raucous fans in Philadelphia. Can they replicate those performances on the road? Against a New England team that never quits on the biggest stage? I don’t see it happening.
Look for Brady to run an uptempo offense throughout the evening. They’ll attempt to wear out the Philadelphia front seven. The Patriots will score first, and the Eagles will be forced to play from behind. As well as Foles has played since coming in for the injured Wentz, I think he’ll make two costly mistakes during the contest. Those errors will lead to Patriots points, and they’ll help the Patriots win their 6th Super Bowl Championship in the Belichick-Brady Era.
